A humorous verse of three long and two short lines rhyming AABBA.

“Sue” by Angela Guthrie, illustrated by Addison Phillips

“Pierre” by Angela Guthrie, illustrated by Addison Phillips

“Pierre” by Angela Guthrie, illustrated by Addison Phillips

Achoo! Sneezed a girl named Sue

Who stayed home in bed with the flu

She had a fever and chills

And her throat refused pills

I wouldn't want to be her

Would you?

“Pierre” by Angela Guthrie, illustrated by Addison Phillips

“Pierre” by Angela Guthrie, illustrated by Addison Phillips

“Pierre” by Angela Guthrie, illustrated by Addison Phillips

Pierre is a duck from Peru

Who decided to leave the zoo

He hitched a ride with a cook

Who was reading a book

And now he's part of a stew!

“Miss Penguin” by Angela Guthrie, illustrated by Addison Phillips

Miss Penguin went swmiming alone

And swam far away from her zone

She was turned around

And nearly drowned

Next time she’ll be chaperoned
