Couplets feature two lines of verse in the same meter and typically rhyme. They can be about any and everything, so there are no limitations to what you can say!
On a beautiful dark chocolate night
A white chocolate moon appeared quite bright.
Rachel chose a fudge-colored gown
With a matching fudge-colored crown.
She rode her bike to the hot cocoa ball
That the new queen held in a hot cocoa hall.
She danced the tango on the mint brownie floor
When the ball was over, it was half past four.
Exhausted from dancing, she collapsed into a heap
On marshmallow pillows, then soon fell asleep.
With a smile on her face, she began to dream
Of dancing the tango and coffee ice cream.

Robin marched with great aplomb
To the beat of a different drum.
She lived alone in a discarded tent
With no complaining neighbors or high rent.
God gave her clothes that suited her best;
Black polka dots and a red satin vest.
With plans to move she packed up her goods,
And found a spot in the back of the woods.
She adopted a cricket, a termite, and a bee;
They built their home at the top of a tree.
She brought a small pillow, a blanket, and a quilt,
And they lived together in the house that she built.
